The look involves deliberately messy hair which is either swept back off the face, or centre-parted, falling into curtains.  It was a favourite hairstyle of the bad boy with the angel face (think Johnny Depp c.1995) and was one of the biggest men’s hair trends of the 1990s.  It has now been brought right up to date for the 21st Century by celebrities including Cole Sprouse, Harry Styles and Brooklyn Beckham.

Back in the Nineties footballer David Beckham was probably the ultimate British fashion icon.  Looking back at his crispy blonde curtain hair of the time, perhaps it wasn’t the best look to copy today, but thankfully his eldest son Brooklyn has now updated his dad’s famous style for the 21st Century.  These days the hairstyle should be worn with plenty of volume and the curtains should be less structured.  You can recreate the look by using a small amount of volumising & holding product.  Run your fingers up and through the front of your hair, and let the hair fall naturally either side, with a few strands falling to the front.  The aim is to achieve an effortlessly cool look!
