Will a French-Girl Fringe Suit Me?

Nearly anybody can wear a fringe!  The only time they may not work perfectly is if you don’t have a very high forehead, which would mean a full fringe could have the effect of closing in your facial features. But even then, this could be resolved by going for a wider fringe.  If you aren’t sure, check out our quick guide on what fringe suits your face shape below…

Long and narrow faces: This look should work well on you, as fringes that finish just below the brows will make your face look fuller.

Round or square faces:  To stop your fringe from making your face appear wider, it’s important to find the right shape.  Side or A-Shaped fringes are very flattering for round or square faces as they will work well with your bone structure. Thicker fringes look better, as wispy versions will have less impact.

Heart-shaped faces: If you’re lucky enough to have a heart-shaped face, the good news is that most styles will suit you!  But the perfect style is layered and feathered – ideal for the French-Girl look.

If you’re thinking of going for the French-girl look, book in for a complimentary consultation at our Westhill salon and your stylist will be able to assess your face shape and hair type and advise on the best look for you.  Bring along a picture or screenshot to your appointment so your stylist knows exactly the look you’re hoping for because when it comes to describing a fringe, one person’s “long” can be another person’s “shaggy” or another’s “sexy!”

Top Tip For Looking After Your French-Girl Fringe

To create that effortless French vibe, your west with style stylist will leave the ends of your new fringe feathery as opposed to blunt.  With any kind of fringe, you’ll need to bear in mind you’ll need regular trims at our Westhill salon in order to keep it looking its best.

Stock Up On Dry Shampoo

It’s likely you’ll be touching and playing with your lovely new fringe a lot, especially at the beginning!  This can produce some extra oiliness, so we’d recommend stocking up on some dry shampoo, like Sebastian Professional Drynamic Dry Shampoo, available at our Westhill salon.  A little mini dry shampoo is ideal for keeping in your handbag, and it’s perfect for stopping a fringe from separating and keeping it fresh and volumised throughout the day.
